EMC filter helps increase solar panel reliability
Premo
FEDC series EMC filter
Premo has launched an EMC filter for PV installations, which allows EMC standards compliancy for an entire PV system, prevents pre-mature panel ageing and reduces installation volume.
Installed between the PV inverter and the solar panel, DC filters helps to meet EMC directives in grip-connected installations.
The FEDC series from Premo has been designed to reduce conducted emissions towards the solar panel and EMI radiations from the solar panel, allowing a longer solar panel lifetime.
These DC filters in PV installations are designed to help increase solar panel reliability and immunity in the inverter control phase, avoiding any electromagnetic interference malfunction.
Premo said that its latest FEDC series can reduce overall installation volume compared to other existing solutions.
The FEDC series is available with ratings from 25A DC to 1,500A DC, without terminals up to 150A DC and screw connections up to 1,500A DC.
Maximum operational voltage is 1,200V DC.
They are also available without filter capacitors to ground.
Premo can design and manufacture customised filters to meet specific requirements.
The Premo FEDC DC EMC filter meets EN60939, UL1283 EMC requirements and the RoHS directive.
As well as PV installations, the filters can also be used in applications where the primary energy source is DC, such as fuel cells, batteries and so on.
