PT series
The PT series of miniature industrial relays from Tyco Electronics can help save space and power in equipment used in control and automation.
The PT series of miniature industrial relays from Tyco Electronics can help save space and power in equipment used in control and automation.
Deploying a number of advanced techniques in relay construction, the PT series provides switching performance of up to 3000VA in components that are only 29mm high.
The devices provide a low coil power consumption, a feature that has been achieved without any loss of contact pressure.
At present, the range includes the PT2, PT3 and PT5 relays, with two, three and four poles, respectively.
These devices offer rated breaking capacities of 3000, 2500 and 1500VA, as well as rated current levels of 12, 10 and 6A.
All PT series components use single cadmium-free AgNi 90/10 contacts.
Available with AC or DC coils, the PT series provides a nominal coil power of 0.75W (typical), for the DC coil version, and 1VA (typical) for the AC coil version.
These variants also feature coil voltage ranges of 6 to 220V DC and 6 to 230V AC, respectively.
The PT series performs well under conditions of shock and vibration, with shock resistance figures, rated for the N/O contact of 20g.
All PT series relays have a dielectric strength of 2500V AC and operate over the -40 to +70C temperature range.
Creepage/clearance distances for the PT2, PT3 and PT5 relays are 3/4, 2.6/4 and 1.8/3mm.
Housed in a 28 x 22.5 x 29mm package - with dust proof and flux tight sealing - the PT series is available with plug-in or PCB terminals.
The devices include mechanical and electrical indicators in addition to a manual (lockable) test facility.
A range of accessories, including sockets, retaining clips and LED or protection modules, is available to complement the PT series.
