Baldor has launched a new range of commercial-duty motors engineered to provide cost-effective solutions for applications requiring low to medium starting torques.

Designated the Model 17Commercial-Duty Motor Line, the new range is targeted atapplications such as fans, blowers, stirrers/agitators,conveyors, compressors and pumps.

The Model 17 range extends from120 to 750W, through standard 48 to 56 frame sizes, with 2, 4, or6 pole, and single- or three-phase AC voltage versions.

Usersalso have 'open-drip proof', 'totally enclosed airover' or 'totally enclosed non-ventilated'construction options available to optimise performance fordifferent target operating environments.

Although the range isengineered for lower cost, Baldor includes numerous features toassure reliable operation including Class B insulation, sealedball bearings, finned end rings for improved cooling, acorrosion-protected steel band, and optional automatic and manualthermal overloads.

The motors additionally include 'quickconnect' terminals for electrical connections, and may bespecified with a range of mounting options including foot,resilient, C-face, O-flange, torsion-flex brackets, belt andpedestal.

Among the major OEM application sectors for the newcommercial-duty motors include agri-business, laundry equipment,HVAC and refrigeration, food preparation equipment, coin-operatedchildren's rides, and commercial hydraulic, jet and swimmingpool pumps.
