Kemet introduces range of capacitors designed for operation in high-humidity environments
Kemet
Arcshield capacitor technology
Kemet has introduced its patent-pending Arcshield capacitor technology, which is designed for high-voltage applications that are susceptible to surface arcing, such as those found in the automotive industry.
The capacitors are suitable for applications that meet or exceed 500V and that are exposed to high-humidity environments.
According to the company, Arcshield devices inhibit surface arc-over discharge, thereby preventing damage to the capacitor and surrounding components on a printed circuit board.
The technology features a robust internal shield electrode system that suppresses over-arc while increasing available capacitance.
