Cool Eye thermopile line array
Perkinelmer introduced the Cool Eye thermopile line array for energy conservation and indoor climate control at Sensor + Test 2009 in Germany on 26-28 May.
The thermopile line array detector is designed to meet applications that require low-resolution 3D thermal images capable of resolving humans and small animals without the use of expensive, high-resolution, infrared-imaging cameras.
Perkinelmer's 16-element thermopile array features increased sensitivity, providing improvements in temperature resolution, thus enhancing energy conservation by up to 30 per cent in HVAC applications.
The company claims that Cool Eye offers greater flexibility as a result of microcontroller integration and is easier for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to integrate into their overall system.
