Gigahertz photon detection module
Perkinelmer unveiled the gigahertz photon detection module (GPDM) for analytical and clinical diagnostic applications under low-light-level conditions at Sensor + Test 2009 in Germany on 26-28 May.
The module, the latest addition to the company's Channel Photomultiplier family, offers a dynamic counting range between 1cps and 1Gcps in a single operating mode, coupled with low-noise performance.
As a result of the gigahertz module's high dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can perform fluorescence and luminescence measurements with a single detection system.
The module is suitable for a number of applications, including fluorescence, luminescence, high-throughput screening, flow cytometry and DNA analysis.
