Eight-pin DIP optocouplers
Everlight Electronics has introduced three families of eight-pin DIP optocouplers.
The DIP optocouplers feature a high isolation voltage (5,000Vrms, one minute), a low-profile surface-mount availability (S1 option at 3.9mm maximum) and an 8mm external creepage distance.
The 1MBd High Speed Transistor series offers multiple current transfer ratio (CTR) ranges and an operating temperature range of -55C to +100C.
The 10MBd Logic Gate High Speed Optocoupler range provides guaranteed performance over an operating temperature range of -40C to +85C and a narrow pulse width distortion (PWD) of 35ns.
The High-Gain Split Darlington series consists of devices with CTRs of 2,000 per cent typical at an input current of 1.6mA.
These device features offer flexibility when designing line receivers, providing analogue signal or digital logic ground isolation or suppressing common-mode transient noises.
The 1MBd High Speed Transistor optocoupler family consists of the 6N135, 6N136 and EL4502 part numbers.
These have separate connections for a photodiode bias and an output-transistor collector to increase the speed by several orders of magnitude over conventional phototransistor optocouplers.
They offer key features such as defined CTR ranges and improved transient noise immunity and they replace pulse transformers for high-voltage level shifting.
The 6N137 is part of the 10MBd Logic Gate High Speed Optocoupler family and has a high-speed integrated photo detector.
It is suitable for applications requiring high data rate transmission while preserving the integrity of the signal by preventing common-mode transient noises.
The 6N138 and 6N139 devices from the High-Gain Split Darlington series can be directly driven by CMOS circuits and offer high CTRs at low input currents.
They are suitable for applications in need of low power consumption, ground isolation and high transient immunity.
These eight-pin DIP devices are available in two surface lead-form options: S and S1.
In addition to saving space in height-constrained applications, the lower-profile S1 option retains the 5,000Vrms isolation voltage safety benefits of a DIP package.
All products are lead free and RoHS compliant.
