Engineers install Hensel electrical enclosures and junction boxes at Scottish Water plant

Hensel’s DK enclosures
Electric engineers from Field Systems Designs working on a flagship project for Scottish Water have installed more than 400 electrical enclosures and junction boxes from Hensel, supplied by CEE Norm.
Glencorse Water Treatment Works is a greenfield development that will soon be online supplying 70 per cent of Edinburgh’s drinking water, replacing existing plants Alnwickhill and Fairmilehead with the aim of providing clearer, fresher drinking water.
Field Systems Designs are installing the lighting, process drives, instrumentation and alarms for fire and security at Glencorse, for which they required many different sizes of junction box, preferably from a single range.
Hensel’s DK range was identified as having all the qualities required for the application: ease of installation, maintenance and reconfiguration; larger than normal spacing for knockouts, into which the glands would be mounted; and a rugged construction that can withstand harsh environments.
