Retooling upgrades connector quality

In recent months the company has invested in newdie-casting tools for the line connector and flanged panel socketranges and this has resulted in much improved castings.

In tandemwith the new tooling programme the company has also been workingwith its electroplating subcontractor in the development of animproved finish in both bright and black nickel.

The pricing forthese connectors has remained stable for many years and DeltronEmcon market research suggests that the pricing it offers willallow its customers to be competitive within their own markets.The XLR audio connector range has been subject to a similarretooling programme and in this instance the company has retooledthe line connector bodies, the line connector metal back shell,and the panel connector housing.

As with the DIN connectors, theelectroplated finish has been improved and is now very much inline with the industry standard.

As well as greatly improving thecast components, the company has also modified the grommet mouldtool thus producing a better quality component and in additionthe cable clamp has been redesigned and is now more robust.Deltron Emcon offers two ranges of line connectors, one with ametal backshell, which is ideal for use in hazardousenvironments, and provides increased shielding, and one with aplastic shell, which offers all the attributes of the majorcompetitors at a competitive price.
