A new connector and patching system meets the high datarates and exacting signal requirements of high definition television.

Deltron-Emcon, the UK-based manufacturer of the Media Products family of video, audio and data patching products for the broadcast market, has launched a new connector and patching system meeting the high datarates and exacting signal requirements of high definition television (HDTV).

The new connectors exhibit true 75 ohms resistance characteristics over a very wide bandwidth, with minimal signal loss to a frequency of 3GHz, and even beyond that, good performance to 5GHz.

They are available as both 1 and 2U panels, with 24, 26 or, in a product unique to Deltron, 32 ways per panel.

The range also includes U-links in a variety of colours along with various lengths of patch cord.

Bob Davis, Managing Director of Deltron Emcon said: "HDTV has arrived and is here to stay".

"With the introduction of this new range, we are ready to help our customers make the move from the old style 50ohm MUSA connectors, which have been used by the industry since the mid 1940s, albeit with later modification to handle 270Mbit/s digital video data streams, to a true HDTV-enabled infrastructure".

The Media Products range is available through a worldwide network of distributors and resellers.
