Micro series circular connectors
Omnetics Connector Corporation has announced that its micro series circular connectors are now available with twist lock metal shells.
The locking mechanism requires a quarter turn - similar to the action commonly used in BNC connectors.
When combined with a jacketed cable, these high-density circular connectors can be sealed to IP67 ratings.
The twist lock circulars are available in sizes ranging from two to 27 positions and have contacts arranged on a 0.050in (0.635mm) pitch.
Utilising a military-quality contact system, these connectors are suitable for applications where size, weight and rugged reliability are critical.
Many standard and custom options are available including bulkhead mounts, cable harnesses, specialty metals and plating.
Current-carrying capability is 3A per contact, and dielectric withstand voltage is 600V AC RMS.
Insulation resistance is 5,000Mohm (min) at 500V DC and contact resistance is 26mohm (65mV) (max) at 2.5A.
Operating temperature range is -25 to 105C and the connectors can withstand vibration forces of 20G and 30G shock without suffering any discontinuities of more than 10us.
