ODU releases insert for Medi-Snap connectors
ODU
Medi-Snap connectors
ODU has introduced a 230V mains-rated insert for its Medi-Snap range of plastic push-pull locking connectors.
Rated at 10A with two contacts, or 9A with three contacts, this insert fits the 14mm diameter bodyshell of the Medi-Snap range and has been developed to meet the demand for mains voltage-connectors with secure locking, particularly in the medical equipment market.
Contacts are 0.9mm diameter for solder connection to AWG 18 or 1mm conductors, with male contacts in the receptacle and female contacts in the plug, for safety protection.
The Medi-Snap range of connectors is autoclavable at 140C and has an operating temperature of -50 to +120C.
These connectors achieve more than 2,000 mating cycles, with low insertion and withdrawal forces, as well as 100 per cent protection against accidental contact, when the connector is in the inserted position.
Medi-Snap is available with 2-14 contact positions and termination can be crimp, solder-bucket or PCB-mount.
Housings have a high chemical resistance and are available in grey, black or white.
Colour-coded bezels can be added which, in addition to six possible keyed positions, helps prevent mismating of the equipment.
