Low-cost cable assemblies for medical instruments
Quadrant Connections
Medi-Snap/Mini-Med cable assemblies
Quadrant is offering two low-cost ranges of circular connector cable assemblies designed specifically for medical instruments.
Manufactured by ODU, a connector specialist in Muhldorf, Germany, the Medi-Snap and the Mini-Med are both snap-off, blind-mate circular connectors that are free of DEHP and that are 0.9 per cent NaCl resistant.
The connectors have a snap-on mating mechanism that is designed with a low retention force so that it can be disconnected easily in emergency.
The Medi-Snap measures 16mm in diameter with two to 14 contacts and is supplied in cable lengths from 0.25m to 2m, while the smaller Mini-Med is designed for operation in very small spaces.
The latter has a diameter of only 11mm, has two to six contacts and is supplied in cable lengths from 0.5m to 5m.
Both connectors are protected to IP68 when connected blind-mate, are available in plug, receptacle and inline receptacles in black, grey and white, are assembled with PVC or highly flexible silicone cable and can be sterilised by wiping with disinfectant when required for repeated use.
