Indian space project uses Cannon connectors
ITT Interconnect Solutions
Cannon connectors
ITT Interconnect's Cannon Micro D high-reliability D subminiature connectors are being used on board the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO's) Chandrayaan I spacecraft.
The satellite is currently mapping the moon, and ITT's connectors are used to transmit information on data input and conversion equipment.
ITT has been involved with ISRO since 2005, when Jost's Engineering, the company's manufacturing representative in India, first designed in the Cannon Micro D connectors.
ISRO plans to develop and launch 40 satellites over the next five years, and ITT connectors are on a number of other platforms as well as the Chandrayaan I moon venture.
