Hirose Electric launches LX connectors
Hirose Electric
LX connectors
Hirose has introduced the LX series of connectors for applications such as digital still cameras, personal digital assistance, measuring equipment, portable readers, EPOS systems and medical devices.
The LX series is a 0.5mm pitch ultra-low profile interface connector.
The compact receptacle has a height profile of 2mm.
The box bent metal shell allows a thin yet robust design.
The plug can withstand 30N maximum force applied in any direction when fully mated.
Good mechanical and electrical performance is assured by 5,000 mating cycle capability.
Hirose said that other benefits of using the LX series are the sequential mating contacts.
This allows protection of the circuit by having two contacts protruding forward by 0.5mm at each end of the connector.
These contacts can be moved to other positions upon request.
The V-shaped slit snap lock gives a tactile click to give assurance that the connector is fully mated.
The mating section of the connector is designed to prevent mis-insertion and stop any damage occurring to the plug if inserted reversely or at an angle.
The plug will release if an excessive pull force is applied to the cable.
