Cable, connector and termination services

The design of a reliable cable assembly depends mostly on the application.

Will the connector and its associated cable be manipulated over and over again by an operator? Does the assembly need to be watertight? Does it need to meet a specific military standard? Must the cable be flexible and will it encounter constant motion? Some examples of cable and connector available are detailed below.

Multicore screened and unscreened Def-Stan 61-12 cables are used in military, process control and data applications with a M Series ratchet-locking multipole connector.

UL standard cables with drain wire (Belden equivalent) are used in instrumentation, data and audio applications with a Lemo F series push-pull compact lightweight connector.

Mil-Tac military rugged multi-fibre cable are suitable for external use in snow, desert and high-humidity applications, with the Lemo H series hermaphroditic multi-fibre push-pull connector, or K Series multi fibre push-pull connector.

Assembly processes may also involve hot melt technology, overmoulding and cable labelling and will depend on the type of cable: high-voltage cable, coaxial cable (RG 58 C/U, RG 174 A/U, RG 316 B/U and so on), fibre-optic cables for audio/video (standard SMPTE 311M), or multiconductor cables.
