C and K launches connectors for medical use

The connectors are capable of operation in temperatures of -270C to +200C, making them ideal for medical applications ranging from cryogenic processes to imaging equipment, including CT scanners, MRI and ultrasound machines.

While many connectors are designed with silver plating material, the C and K connectors are designed with a combination of nickel and gold materials, making them suitable for use over a wider temperature range.

The connectors are manufactured at the company's European Space Agency approved facility and are subjected to a number of tests to ensure they meet 'zero defect' criteria, further guaranteeing reliability and in turn, patient safety.

The MDM Series micro-D, MDMA Series rectangular micro-miniature and MTB1 Series single in-line micro-miniature connectors feature a reliable twist-pin contact system that provides a secure base for the contact and exhibits good electrical and mechanical characteristics compared with traditional machined or stamped contacts.

Twist-pin contacts will mate even under severe misalignment conditions.

The DM and DMA D-sub-miniature connectors are offered with co-axial, power or high-voltage contacts, and are available in standard and high-density layouts.

The connectors employ non-outgassing and non-magnetic materials to eliminate distortion in imaging equipment.

The connectors are configured for board-to-board, board-to-cable, and cable-to-cable functionality.
