Female Type BMR connector
Bomar Interconnect Products, a manufacturer and designer of quality connectors and accessories for radio-frequency (RF), video and broadcast transmission, has released the female Type BMR connector.
This is the first member of Bomar's 8GHz BMR Series of PC board connectors for wideband high-definition television (HDTV) transmission.
The result of a three-year design initiative, the BMR Series features proprietary connector technology to meet the signal-quality requirements of large-scale satellite-TV applications.
BMR connectors are a suitable interface solution for dish-network and direct-TV applications in which signals are deployed throughout such facilities as office complexes, hotels, hospitals, colleges and universities.
Traditional 3GHz Type F connectors are adequate for many HDTV applications, but cannot accommodate the extreme bandwidth required when satellite signals are to be split.
BMR connectors, when employed in the RF circuits designed for them, virtually ensure the integrity of split signals as a result of their proprietary engineering.
The 75ohm interfaces are rated to 8GHz (test well to 10GHz) and are engineered to mate only with 8GHz parts.
They are designed to mount to the underside of the PCB to support optimal grounding and inductance and feature an open-top design and contact pin placement to enable low overall capacitance.
