Universal Contact
A new two-way version of the surface mount Universal Contact delivers even greater benefits of miniaturisation, versatility and cost reduction to telecomms and industrial applications.
A new two-way version of the surface mount Universal Contactdelivers even greater benefits of miniaturisation, versatilityand cost reduction to a broad range of telecomms and industrialapplications.
Cannon's Universal Contact is designed toovercome traditional interconnect constraints where the contactis integral to the connecting device.
The Universal Contact, asits name implies, allows designers to standardise interfacesacross different devices.
For example, in mobile phones it can beused for speaker, microphone, buzzer and antenna functions, aswell as other PCB devices.
The contact incorporates preload andanti-lift features.
The x-y-z movement provides a robustconnection between the contact and the component assembly duringshock and vibration.
Because the contacts have no matingcomponent, they can be positioned at any angle.
The new two wayUniversal Contact is offered on a 1.5mm pitch, and measures just2.5mm in free height.
Maximum current rating for the selectivelyplated gold over beryllium copper Universal Contact is 2A nominaland 3A peak at 3V DC.
