Samtec interfaces feature low-profile design

Samtec

Razor Beam interfaces

Samtec has introduced its Razor Beam 0,8mm (0.0315in) pitch high-speed/high-density hermaphroditic strip (LSEM Series) for parallel, perpendicular and coplanar applications.

This range of high-speed Razor Beam interfaces are designed to save PCB real estate on the X, Y and Z axis with ultra-fine pitch, slim row-to-row, low-profile designs.

The system's cost-effective blade-and-beam style Razor Beam contacts are designed for high-speed, but are also suitable for rugged applications with undercut retention notches that increase withdrawal force and produce an audible click when the contacts engage.

The self-mating design can also help reduce inventory costs.

These 0.8mm pitch Razor Beam strips are available in right-angle or vertical orientations, with 20 to 50 contacts per row, and a choice of lead styles.

They offer mated height variety and flexibility with a range of heights from 6mm to 12mm.

This new system is also RoHS compliant and lead-free solderable.

In addition to the LSEM Series 0.8mm pitch strip, the Razor Beam range also includes high-performance hermaphroditic interfaces in 0.635mm (0.025in) pitch (LSS Series) and 0.5mm (0.0197in) pitch (LSHM Series) designs for parallel, perpendicular and coplanar applications.

The LSHM Series also features optional shielding for EMI protection.
