PowerStrip/15 cable assembly (MPSS series)
Samtec has released the PowerStrip/15 cable assembly (MPSS series), a robust, discrete power interconnect system suitable for limited-space, harsh-environment and/or high-current applications.
The wire cable system is available with two, three, four, six or eight dual-leaf blade contacts on a narrow 5mm centreline.
When mated with Samtec's PowerStrip/25 High Power Terminals (MPT Series), the system has a current-carrying capacity of 14.4A per contact at 30C temperature rise (with eight positions powered and 14 AWG cable).
The PowerStrip/15 system is available in double or single-ended assemblies with 14 or 16 AWG discrete wire coax cable and a choice of assembled lengths.
It also features a positive latching system for increased unmating force and polarised guide posts that allow for blind mating, making it suitable for rugged or other harsh environments.
Samtec's PowerStrip interconnect range is designed to meet a variety of high-current applications and includes three product levels differentiated by size and power output: PowerStrip/35, PowerStrip/25 and PowerStrip/15.
Power and power/signal combinations in right angle and vertical orientations for board level applications, as well as a hinged system, are also available.
