Micro-rugged pitch interconnect
Samtec has introduced a new micro-rugged pitch interconnect, suitable for use in harsh environments and for multiple-connector, board-to-board applications facing potential misalignment issues.
With a floating contact system that provides 0.5mm of float in the X and Y directions, the connectors can absorb location errors during mounting on the PCB or due to gaps created when the PCBs are secured after the connectors are mated.
Micro Rugged Floating Contact System Terminals (FT5 Series) and Sockets (FS5 Series) from Samtec are a reliable surface-mount system available with 30 or 60 contacts (15 or 30 per row) on a narrow 0.5mm pitch.
The socket has a standard 4mm body height while the terminal is available in 1 or 3mm body heights for a choice of 5 or 7mm overall mated heights.
A through-hole weld tab for further stability in rugged or harsh environments is standard and additional lead counts, stack heights and a surface-mount weld tab are also available.
The terminal is also offered in a right-angle design for micro-backplane applications.
Price begins at $0.04 per pin in production quantities.
