Omron connector features rotary backlock
Omron Electronics
FPC connector family
Omron Electronic has announced the addition of a small FPC connector family to its interconnect range.
By reducing the pitch from 0.3mm to 0.25mm, Omron said it has achieved a board area reduction of 20 per cent and reduced the assembled mounting height to 0.85mm.
The range has been launched in response to demand for ever more compact interconnect solutions in smaller and thinner electronic systems.
The Omron XF3C features a rotary backlock, which is delivered open to reduce the number of assembly steps required and does not disconnect when the FPC is lifted.
It also has double-sided contacts, eliminating the need to distinguish between upper and lower contacts when assembling upper and lower PCBs.
The four-sided housing prevents FPC displacement.
Omron's range of FPC connectors includes solutions on 0.3mm, 0.4mm and 0.5mm pitch.
Most styles feature dual contacts and a rotary backlock, though Omron offers rotary frontlock and slidelock styles and versions with single-sided contacts for customers that prefer them.
