Hirose offers miniature coaxial connector
Hirose Electric
UFL series
The UFL series is a miniature coaxial connector with superior performance characteristics, according to Hirose Electric UK.
The mated plug and receptacle height profiles are as low as 2mm rising to a maximum of 2.5mm dependent on the cable size.
The mounting area for the receptacle occupies 7.7mm2.
The UFL can handle transmission speeds of up to 6GHz, which is suitable for a wide range of miniature devices using wireless communication modules, wireless LAN, GPS, Bluetooth and so on.
Mating and unmating of the connector is simple and a tactile click confirms that the connector is fully mated.
The plugs use ultra-fine fluorinated resin insulated cable assuring secure and stable connection.
Many different cable diameters and single or double ended cable lengths are available.
Hirose has also introduced a UFL commodity version.
This range can offer the same characteristics, fit, form and function as the standard UFL but is more cost effective by using tin plating on the outer conductor of the cable rather than the standard silver plating.
The cable diameters applicable to this range are 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.13mm, 1.32mm, 1.37mm in lengths from 35mm to 2,000mm.
