Splice connector eases installation and repair

This system simplifies the termination process by replacing the epoxy/polish process with pre-terminated fibre patchcords that can be fusion spliced within the fibre stripping lengths of the connector.

As well as speeding up the termination process for installations, it can remove the need for splice trays or protective boxes.

The system is fully compatible with existing SMPTE A304M fibre hybrid connectors.

The connector kit consists of extension shell and centre pieces combined with fibre patchcords.

Repair kits are also available.

The system uses a special splicer unit that has been jointly developed with 3SAE Technologies, and the unit can also be employed for all other standard single-mode fibre splicing.

Splicing is a technology that offers minimal losses to provide a reliable high-performance termination within the connector.
