Nexans develops range of high-capacity data transmission cables for aviation industry

WX 26 and KL 24 data transmission cables
Nexans is offering a range of aviation cables for aircraft manufacturers to meet the requirements of data-hungry on-board passenger services such as gaming, internet connectivity and in-flight entertainment systems.
At the International Paris Air Show, Nexans will showcase the WX 26 databus cable for CAN bus applications and the KL 24 quad Ethernet cable for high-speed data transmission at 100Mbit/sec.
Three coaxial cables will also be highlighted at the event: KX for high-frequency connections; WZ for signal transmission applications; and KW, which features an aluminium conductor for applications where weight savings are important.
Key specifications
• The high-capacity aviation cables feature optimised conductors, shielding and armouring.
• The cables enable more data to be carried within the same installation footprint.
• They reduce the cable weight by 20 to 60 per cent compared with conventional cables of similar performance.
