An example is Redel P Series connectors, which are made from lightweight plastic (PSU or PEI) with a positive operator-friendly latching mechanism.

Precision gold-plated electrical contacts are employed for excellent conductivity and reliability.

The keying system combined with colour coding can be incorporated on all connector types to prevent mis-mating in critical applications.

The three sizes in the range provide from two to 34 contacts handling up to 30A.

A mains power connector and hybrid fluidic/multi-pole and coaxial/multi-pole versions are also available.

Redel connectors in PSU are UL certified as auto extinguishable and can be sterilised by gas or steam up to 20 cycles.

For extensive sterilisation (more than 100 cycles), poletherimide ULTEM (PEI) is recommended.

Stemming from the 00 Series, the 03 Series of connectors has been developed for applications where the connection must be sealed under very high pressure.

The push-pull latching system has been replaced by a screw coupling system with watertightness maintained by compression of an O-ring in FPM (Viton) according to the triangular shaped cavity principle, allowing the device on which they are fitted to reach a protection index of IP68 as per IEC 60529.

The 03 Series features a rugged housing for extreme working conditions and is able to exceed 60 bar working pressure in mated conditions, with 360deg screening for full EMC shielding.

Types include coaxial 50ohm or multi-pole - two, three or four contacts.
