GTK has announced that it has been able to achieve fast turnaround times for a complex cable harness design for London Underground at its cable assembly and box-building facility based in Hampshire, UK.

The company recently won a contract to supply London Underground with a cable assembly for use in ticket machines.

Tom Hennessey, connector and cabling product manager at GTK, said: 'This was a new project with tight deadlines, but the cabling loom needed more design input.

'Ian Perris, general manager of GTK UK, Romsey, met the contractor and took away a prototype unit.

'Within a week he was able to provide first-off samples of a much lower cost solution.' GTK's 6000ft/2 Romsey plant is able to offer technical assistance, prototyping, pre-production and production services on all types of assembly - crimp, coax, IDC, looms - as well as box-building.
