DNA/DNR-AI-224 strain-gauge boards

United Electronic Industries (UEI) has released a series of high-speed, four-channel strain-gauge input boards for its Cube and Racktangle data acquisition and control chassis products.

The DNA/DNR-AI-224 boards are designed to combine high speed, high accuracy and flexible connection for a variety of applications.

According to the company, the analogue inputs offer 18-bit resolution at sample rates of up to 100 kilosamples per second.

Each channel includes an analogue-to-digital converter and all four channels are sampled simultaneously.

Key features

Cube

  • This Ethernet-based I/O platform measures 4 x 4 x 4in or 4 x 4 x 5.8in
  • It can be deployed in four configurations: as an Ethernet I/O system slaved to a host PC; as a standalone data logger/recorder; as a Linux-based programmable automation controller; or as a Modbus TCP-based I/O slave
  • Each consists of a core module that holds the processor and network interface along with three or six open I/O slots

Racktangle

  • This I/O chassis has a more conventional 3U rack form factor with front-loading I/O boards
  • It offers 12 I/O slots and supports up to 300 analogue-to-digital, 394 digital-to-analogue, 576 DIO, 144 Arinc-429 or 96 CAN or serial I/O ports
  • Gigabit interface provides two independent ports: one used for primary system control and the second for real-time diagnostics
