Oscillators feature onboard GPS receiver
Link Microtek
GPS disciplined oscillators
Link Microtek has announced a range of global positioning system disciplined oscillators (GPSDOs).
The units are said to provide precise frequency control and time base accuracy and incorporate an onboard GPS receiver for applications requiring exact geo-location data, including rate of travel.
Manufactured by MtronPTI, the M9100/9101/9103 GPSDO devices are said to enable system designers to reduce cost, power consumption and PCB area compared with discrete solutions.
Since the devices are self-calibrating via GPS, savings can be made by eliminating instrument calibration costs.
The GPSDOs use a 10MHz OCXO source to achieve holdover stability and a 1pps accuracy of +/-50ns to UTC RMS (1-Sigma) when GPS locked.
Control and system status monitoring is provided via an RS232 interface.
The M9100 is the smallest of the three models, offering a form factor of 63.5mm x 25.4mm x 12.7mm, which makes it suitable for use in portable or vehicle-mounted military equipment.
The M9101 measures 76.2mm x 38.1mm x 22.2mm and provides an additional 10MHz LVDS/HCMOS-compatible output together with the higher performance required for communications base stations, navigation systems or laboratory test instruments.
The M9103 is similar to the M9101 but includes a distribution amplifier, providing up to five outputs.
