Vid touch screen displays
VIA Technologies has announced the Vid series of industrial-class touch screen displays, designed for a range of modern interactive kiosk, POI and POS embedded systems.
Available in both ruggedised and open-frame configurations, the VIA Vid series spans 7-19in form factors and offers high compatibility with VIA embedded systems, added longevity support, complete scalability and a robust feature set suitable for commercial and industrial deployment.
All ruggedised configurations feature IP65 water resistance compliancy and operating temperatures of -10 to 70C, meaning the display can be used in harsh industrial environments.
VIA Vid displays feature a robust aluminium chassis, available in a range of colours.
Supporting SXGA mode display resolutions of up to 1280 x 1024 pixels, Vid series displays feature the latest in bright LED backlight technology with a range of 7-19in TFT LCD panels, screen brightness of up to 600cd/m2 and wide viewing angles of up to 178deg.
TFT LCD technology brings up to 30 per cent power reduction compared to conventional CCFL backlight LCD.
A five-wire USB-based resistive touch interface offers excellent responsiveness for interactive display applications.
All VIA Vid displays support both HDMI and 15-pin D-Sub VGA ports, as well as additional mounting options for hard-drive and Wi-Fi modules.
They feature 75mm and 100mm VESA mounting support for easy and flexible device installation, as well as dedicated support for optimised integration with VIA EITX-3001 based systems and VIA AMOS 3001 box PC products.
Vid displays also offer an on-screen display panel that includes keys for source selection, menu and LED and power buttons.
They are available now in 15in and 12.1in ruggedised and open-frame configurations.
19in, 10.4in and 7in SKUs will be available later this year.
