Waterproof detector switches go automotive
Alps Electric
SPVQ7 waterproof detector switches
With the SPVQ7 series, Alps Electric offers waterproof detector switches for automotive applications.
The horizontally actuated switches' dimensions are 14.7 (w) x 5.4 (d) x 6.7mm (h) its operating life is around 300,000 switching cycles.
Conceived as one-pole two-position or one-pole one-position switches, the SPVQ7 series is rated for switching currents of maximal 0.1A at 12V DC or 50A at 5VDC respectively.
The necessary operating force accounts for 1+/-0.5N.
The detector switches are available with left- and right-side boss.
Depending on the version, they can be mounted directly on a circuit board or are equipped with solder terminals.
Operating temperatures range from -40 to 85C.
The other specifications include a maximum initial contact resistance of 500Mohm, an insulation resistance higher than 100Mohm at 500V and a voltage proof of up to 500V AC for 1min.
The SPVQ7 series is suitable for lead-free reflow soldering and meets the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directives.
