The system is built for optimal versatility, enabling multi-mode, single-mode, extended-mode fibre media configuration and direct attached cabling for Copper SFP+ connectivity.

The system also enables speed flexibility, allowing each port to transmit at 10 or 1Gb/sec via SFP+ or SFP pluggable connectors.

Based on 10Gb Marvell's Prestera packet processor, the Niagara 2948 possesses a powerful software suite that can be managed remotely via the management or console port, enabling full control over line-rate switching, routing and filtering.

Interface Masters also offers the Niagara 2908, an eight-port 10GbE managed switch; the Niagara 2916, a 16-port GbE managed switch; and Niagara 2924, a 24-port 10GbE managed switch.
