Detect switch features extended life cycles
C and K Components
MDS Series
CandK Components has developed a surface-mount, micro-miniature, snap-acting detect switch with extended life cycles.
Designed for ATCA applications, the MDS Series device joins CandK's range of detect switches including the SDS Series, SDT Series and HDT Series components.
CandK has also become a member of PICMG, a group of companies collaborating to develop open specifications for high-performance telecom and industrial computing applications.
Along with ATCA and Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) applications, CandK's detect switches, including the MDS Series devices, are specified for medical devices, consumer electronics and within any application where detecting the presence of a mechanical device is required.
The MDS Series micro-miniature snap-acting detect switch is available in vertical or right-angle PCB-mount styles.
The switch features a long total travel of 2.9mm.
Contact rating is 0.3A at 6V DC, with a contact resistance of 200m ohm.
Mechanical and electrical life has been extended to 10,000 operations.
