ACT/Technico offers Cometh4300a GigE switches

The Cometh4300 family of switches supports jumbo frames, full-wire speed Layer 2 bridging and Layer 3 uni- and multi-cast engine forwarding, all running at full data rate.

In addition, the switch supports Layer 2 through Layer 4 advanced traffic classification, filtering and prioritisation.

This makes them suitable for data security services that require the strict priority data trafficking found in time-sensitive or critical applications.

Designed for demanding networking applications and built on the latest generation of Marvell's Prestera GigE packet processors, the Cometh4300 family of GigE switches ranges from 24 ports to 28 ports, up to four of which can be 10Gbit.

The automatic MAC address management, automatic negotiation, automatic polarity and automatic crossover on each port make the family plug and play.

The Cometh4300 family provides a routing capacity of 125 million packets per second.

The switches fit in standard 6U CompactPCI systems and comply with the PICMG 2.16 standard.

They also come in standard, extended and conduction-cooled grades.

VME and VPX versions, compliant with VITA standards 31.1 and 46.20 respectively, will also be available.

An onboard, high-performance Powerquicciii processor handles all the management functions and the protocol processing, including L3 routing and setup and additional L4 services.

Interface Concept's proven onboard Switchware software manages all the traffic routing and packet processing.

The entire system can be monitored from a browser, SNMP or CLI.

Some additional functions are provided, including configuration of all PHY and switch parameters, port monitoring, static MAC addresses, VLAN control and a statistical counter.

The switches are fully compatible with other Interface Concept Cometh switches, including the 4000a, 4020a, 4030a, 4050a versions.
