Optek offers encoders for small shaft motors
Optek Technology
OPE1275 and OPE2275 encoders
Optek Technology is offering a range of low-cost miniature incremental encoders for applications with small shaft motors, such as printer motors, machine automation and machine safety equipment.
The OPE1275 and OPE2275 single- and dual-channel encoders feature 256 pulses per revolution at speeds of up to 5,000rev/min.
The encoders are said to be simple to install, requiring only a Phillips screwdriver for assembly.
The extended shaft versions of the encoders are fully assembled and ready for immediate connection.
The OPE1275 encoder provides a single-channel analogue output for a fast rotation, while the OPE2275 device provides a dual-channel analogue output for the speed and direction of rotation.
Electrical connection is achieved via a four-pin connector providing V+, ground and output pins.
The frequency response ranges from DC to 25kHz, providing a maximum of 256 cycles per revolution and 1,024 quadrature states per revolution.
Typical rise and fall times are 500ns and 100ns respectively.
The supply voltage is 5.0, while the supply current is 21mA.
The operating temperature ranges from 0C to +85C.
