Densitron introduces OLED modules targeted at users of vacuum fluorescent displays
Densitron Display Solutions
Densitron has introduced the Character range of OLED modules, which is targeted at vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) users looking for a replacement or upgrade option.
Compared with VFDs, OLED displays offer a faster response time and a wider viewing angle (close to 170°), as well as higher contrast (10,000:1), brightness (100cd/m2) and colour saturation without the need for colour filters, according to the company.
OLED modules offer up to 50,000 hours’ half-life time and consume 50 per cent less power than VFDs.
The space between each OLED pixel is five times less than that of a VFD, enabling a smoother graphic display.
The maximum thickness of an OLED display is 1.3mm as it is only made up of a single emissive layer sandwiched between two thin glasses.
