TFT display modules

Hitachi Display Products Group has announced the introduction of two 5.7in TFT display modules that feature QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) and VGA (640 x 480 pixels) resolutions.

The TX14D16VM1CBC (QVGA) and TX14D17VM1BAB (VGA) display modules join the existing range of compact 5.7in Hitachi TFT LCD display modules.

The displays feature low power white LED backlights that have a brightness of 400cd/m (TX14D16) and 350cd/m (TX14D17) with a lifetime of 40,000 hours.

Both displays have a pin-compatible 18-bit RGB CMOS interface that enables up to 262,000 colours to be displayed.

Both modules feature the same mechanical outline dimensions of 131mm (w) x 102.2mm (h), which allows system and application engineers to offer support for two different display resolutions in the same equipment housing.

The displays are also form factor compatible with other existing displays in Hitachi's compact 5.7in portfolio.

Touch-panel versions of the displays, the TX14D16VM1CPC and TX14D17VM1BPB, are also available, making these modules suitable for many embedded applications from portable hand-held equipment to industrial human-machine interfaces.
