Colour STN modules boast excellent readability

Digital Displays has a new range of colour STN display modules it reckons can enhance products with their bright colours, compact dimensions and superb resolution.

These new generation CSTN displays are particularly suitable for integration into products in the telecommunications, medical equipment, instrumentation and in-car GPS and speed detector systems.

Their light weight and low power consumption also makes them suitable for many handheld applications including "chip and pin" terminals.

Digital Displays recognises the growing demand for products to be used in all ambient light conditions and offers a choice (dependant on the model) of transmissive, transflective and reflective modes of operation, together with an option of white LED or CCLF backlighting The DDL 7539 module packs a massive resolution of 128 x 128 pixel into its compact 1.5in overall size and offers a generous 26.8 x 26.8mm viewing area.

The three LED white backlight ensures excellent readability under all lighting conditions.

Priced at a very reasonable GBP 14 for quantities of 100 pieces, this module opens up the use of colour displays in all types of low cost products.

Moving up in size the DDL 7296 is a 3.8in QVGA 320 x 240 resolution module with built in touch screen and bright white LED backlight.

This display is particularly suitable for medical instrumentation.
