Chassis provide a choice of homes for PXI systems

Both PXI and CompactPCImodules can be used in all models, which are also compatible withAmplicon's data acquisition boards, AWG and scope cards andcontrollers.

Spanning all factors usually associated with PXI,the range allows a wide variety of applications, includingmachine automation, in-vehicle control and testing, wirelesscommunications etc to be addressed, with end users offered adviceby Amplicon's technical team on exactly the right product,or combination of products, for their particular application.

Forhigh performance, medium sized applications, the PXIS-2600 seriesis a 3U PXI chassis with seven peripheral slots, available inboth colour LCD and touchscreen versions.

It also features anindustrial 400W power supply, system monitoring and hot swappablefront mounted fans.

The PXIS-2500 portable desk/benchtop chassisprovides up to five slots for PXI expansion cards and a single12HP slot for the controller, both of which could be from anyvendor, making it ideal for modular systems.

Its internal 10MHzreference clock is available on all slots, in addition to startrigger, PXI trigger bus and PXI local bus.

It features anindustrial 250W CompactPCI removable AC power supply, with a DCinput also available.

The third model, PXIS-2700, is a reliable,easy to use device featuring one system slot with two PXI-PXIbridges, and 17 PXI/CompactPCI I/O slots.

This model is bettersuited to high density I/O and high performance applications.Each of the 17 PXI slots has an internal 10MHz reference clock,and a trigger clock which is segmented into three with the startrigger bus available to the first 13 slots.

It also features460W + 460W redundant power units.

Power, temperature and coolingfans are monitored by an alarm module, and are alsohot-swappable.

Many end users prefer to have the option ofextending their systems using PCI to PXI or PXI to PXIextensions, as these are a far more cost efficient means ofproviding direct PC control.

Amplicon offers a high speedbridging solution in the Adlink PCI-8570 and PXI-8570 devices.These provide a high level of scalability and reliability to PCIbased systems, and a low latency, high throughput path to PCIslots in an expansion chassis.

In addition, a single device canextend to 2 PCI segments, thereby monitoring two PXI/CompactPCIchassis with a single controller, which significantly reducescosts.
