Precision Micro offers decorative etched speaker grilles for audio visual equipment

Precision Micro

LEEP grilles

Precision Micro has developed a precision etching process called LEEP (laser-evolved etch process) that it uses to create etched metal audio grilles, the pattern of which can incorporate a variety of aperture shapes, part-etched logos or discrete part numbers.

According to Precision Micro, LEEP incorporates laser direct imaging for greater accuracy and repeatability, which it achieves without any physical tooling.

A manufacturer of high-end audio visual equipment, on which the speakers and integrated grilles are a major visible feature, has commissioned Precision Micro to produce precision speaker grilles for its products.

Precision Micro claims the tolerances for these components are very tight and exceed the capabilities of photochemical etching, but that its LEEP process is accurate enough to meet these requirements.
