Noise cancelling ICs from Austriamicrosystems offer high sound quality and long battery life

AS3400 and AS3420
Austriamicrosystems has introduced the AS3400 and AS3420 Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) ICs, which are designed to make sound from wired and wireless headsets, respectively, easier to hear and more intelligible in noisy environments.
These ICs feature low power levels, which are claimed to improve battery life at least 20 per cent over other ANC products, and a 10dB positive SNR, for improved audio performance.
The Active Noise Cancelling IC AS3420 is a fully differential ANC speaker driver IC, which, connecting directly to common SoCs for mono Bluetooth applications and other wireless headsets, reduces ambient background noise through fully analogue implementation.
Both this and the AS3400, a low-power ANC speaker driver designed to reduce ambient background noise in wired headsets and improve the quality of conversations or listening to music, can be configured for feedback or feed-forward operation.
