Soft-Shield 4850
Chomerics is offering Soft-Shield 4850 in sheet material and strip form.
Soft-Shield 4850 is an EMI shielding gasket that utilises multi-planar Z-axis conductive foam to deliver shielding effectiveness between 70 and 80dB.
The material has a lower closure force and compression set and is up to 20 per cent cheaper than fabric-over-foam gaskets.
The material is UL 94 V-0 certified and is suitable for shielding in consumer and commercial electronics, telecom and information technology applications such as backplanes, I/O panels and access panel cabinet seals.
Soft-Shield 4850 uses electrically conductive silver plated fibres (no nickel material is used) optimally dispersed within a low density foam for cost effective shielding with excellent through-resistance and compression set properties.
The convenient, ready to use, pre-cut strips are available in a range of standard widths in 610mm lengths.
Custom sizes are available on request.
Soft-Shield 4850 is available with a selectively coated pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to simplify assembly, provide gasket adhesion and optimise electrical interface resistance.
The roll form material can be converted into profiles applicable for I/O panels, backplanes, connectors and access panels.
Soft-Shield 4850 is fully RoHS compliant and has an operating temperature range of -40C to +70C.
