DC fans suitable for telecom racks and ventilation

The OD172SAPL Series stackable, low-profile, aluminium DC fans feature two flat sides and measure 172 x 150 x 38mm.

David Luna, the company's product marketing manager, said: 'While comparable fans of this size are round, the SAPL frame features two flat sides that allow for stacking them side by side with no wasted space.

'As a result, these fans are much lower profile than typical 172mm round fans, making them ideal for a variety of applications, including telecom racks and enclosures, as well as for ventilation in appliances and white goods, such as cooling and refrigeration units,' he added.

The OD172SAPL Series fans are constructed with a die-cast aluminium frame and a PBT, UL94V-0 plastic impeller.

The fans feature a dual-ball-bearing system and a polarity-protected, auto-restart, brushless DC motor.

The DC fans are also available with tachometer (5V/TTL) output, a locked rotor alarm (5V/TTL) and thermistor, pulse-width-modulation and constant speed controls.

Available in 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC versions, the OD172SAPL fans feature voltage ranges from 8V to 14V, 15V to 28V and 28V to 63V respectively.

Airflow ranges from 120CFM to 225CFM, with speeds from 2,000rev/min to 4,000rev/min and maximum static pressure from 0.35H2O to 0.73H2O.

The operating temperature ranges from -20C to +80C, while life expectancy (L10) is to 60,000 hours.
