AWS develops abilities to support contact phases

AWS Electronics

MRO

AWS has developed its group capabilities to support all phases of a contact, from new product introduction, ramp up and full production to MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) and end of life.

This is especially important in sectors such as defence, telecoms, security and mass transport, where products are expected to have a working life running to 10 or 20 years’ service or longer.

Supporting NPI, the Group’s AWS Cemgraft facility in Newbury has a Fast Track prototyping service that can turn around prototype or urgent low-volume requests in five to 10 days as standard.

At its Newcastle-under-Lyme operation, AWS Electronics can produce prototype cable assemblies in 3-5 days.

Moving up into full production, AWS Group carries out surface-mount volume assembly at AWS Cemgraft and full turnkey operations at AWS Electronics.

If volumes and economic considerations dictate, a recently opened facility in Namestrovo, Slovakia - which mirrors the UK operations in modern equipment, quality approach, training and technical capabilities - provides low-cost manufacture.

AWS Jantec in Bedford is AWS’s Centre of Excellence for whole-lifecycle support, repair and refurbishment.
