Knowles Acoustics launches material that doubles air volume of miniaturised speakers
Knowles Acoustics
N’Bass material
Knowles Sound Solutions has announced the launch of its N’Bass virtual back volume technology, which it says doubles the effective air volume in miniaturised loud speaker systems and can be used in applications such as music, video, gaming, and portable media devices such as smartphones and tablets.
The company says that the N’Bass material increases the back volume seen by the loudspeaker by up to 100 per cent, by absorbing the air in the loudspeaker box like a sponge.
It provides either more bass or smaller loudspeaker box designs, while maintaining the same performance.
The technology can also enable the use of bigger loudspeakers — providing better sound performance within the same gross application volume.
Key features
- Non-conductive
- No negative influence on antenna performance
