LWIR bandpass filters
Deposition Sciences provides long wavelength infrared (LWIR) bandpass filters with good operation at any temperature between ambient and 10-deg K.
The thin film coatings are manufactured via the company's physical vapour deposition with the ion-assist process, making them durable and robust.
They are said to feature precise band edge placement for critical sensing applications.
Deposition Sciences' bandpass filters are claimed to be ideal for use in imaging sensor filters, order-sorting filters, thermal and/or night-vision tasks, and forward-looking infrared (FLIR) optics.
A variety of substrates, such as germanium, silicon, zinc sulphide, zinc selenide, quartz, sapphire and polymers are available for these LWIR filters, depending on the customer's wavelength requirements.
Multispectral filters can also be provided when multiple filters are needed on a single substrate.
Various sizes, from a few millimetres to more than 2in diameter can be provided.
Cryogenic operating temperature transmittance measurements, down to 10K, can be made in-house and customised to filter specifications.
Out-of-band transmittance can be designed to OD 6 or greater and measured to OD4 from 2,000nm to 50,000nm, and to OD 5 from 500nm to 2,000nm.
