ACC offers optically clear silicon encapsulants
ACC Silicones
QSil222 and QLE1102
ACC Silicones has developed QSil222 and QLE1102 optically clear silicon encapsulants.
These silicon encapsulants are designed for potting light-sensitive components, which are UV stable and non-yellowing.
Used to protect and enhance the performance of light-sensitive devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and PV/solar cells, these materials are claimed to offer additional benefits.
QSil222 is a two-part self-bonding heat-cured silicon with a 10:1 mix ratio.
QLE1102 is a two-part 1:1-mix room-temperature cure, which can be accelerated with heat.
The materials have low viscosity and high inhibition resistance.
Non-yellowing potting with these silicons is intended to offer environmental protection and can reduce light refraction, thereby increasing light output or transmission.
Their applications include LED lighting, signage and display boards and the manufacture of PV solar concentrator cells.
