Sercos supplies single-chip controllers for use with simple Sercos III slave devices

Sercos

Easyslave single-chip controller

Sercos has released the Sercos Easyslave single-chip controller, which can be used with simple Sercos III slave devices and supports cycle times as low as 31.25usec.

The device includes a real-time channel with one input and one output connection, and an IP core, which contains the functions of a Sercos Slave connection — including a software library for input/output devices.

Steinbeis Transfer Center for Systems Technology provides technical support for Easyslave, as well as an evaluation kit to simplify introduction to Sercos slave development.

The evaluation kit features a development board based on a Xilinx Spartan-6 XC6SLX9 FPGA, as well as an Ethernet cable, power supply and documentation, and can be extended with plug-in modules.

A licence-free bitstream IP core version — Easyslave-IO — which has a limited functionality, is also available from Sercos.
