Ocean Blue SoCs suited for connected TV products
Ocean Blue
Sunrise HD DVB stack/Voyager HD MHEG-5 stack
Ocean Blue Software has ported its Sunrise HD DVB stack and Voyager HD MHEG-5 stack onto set-top box (STB) chipsets from Renesas and Trident.
The Trident PNX847x series of system-on-chips (SoC) has an ARM Cortex A9 processor, multi-format HD STB decoders, with support for 3D graphics and advanced power management.
The EMMA3SL/P SoC is suitable for low-cost HD and hybrid zappers and has integrated Ethernet and USB2.0 ports.
Its capability for multi-format video enables users to play back standard video formats such as MPEG-2 and H.264 HD as well as China's AVS, DivX, WMV and VC-1.
The SoC is available either as free-to-air (EMMA3SL) or with advanced security features (EMMA3SL/P) for pay-TV operators.
The EMMA3SL(/P) device is available and in mass production from Renesas.
Ocean Blue said porting its software range to this next generation of media processor SoCs will result in a solution well suited for connected TV products.
Voyager MHEG is compliant with DTG Freeview software standards and Ocean Blue also offers MHEG profiles for Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
